With this year’s theme “Padharo
Mhare Des” Hum Sub and Town of Cary invite you
to revel in the wonders of Rajasthan at Cary Diwali
2009. Come enjoy a day of dance and gaiety, and be transported
to the “land of royalty,” called Rajasthan,
the largest and may be the most colorful state of India.
Indulge in a time-honored celebration of light and the
triumph of good over evil. As evening descends, join
the chorus of voices, the melding of all ages and languages,
which fill the night with song along with Indian Idols
Sandeep
Acharya and Aditi Paul in their highlight
performance. Later, watch in wonder as the sky over
Koka Booth Amphitheatre fills with a grand fireworks
display. Yes, Cary Diwali really does have it all. Whether
you immerse yourself in the music and exhibitions, or
sample the authentic cuisine and handicrafts bazaar,
bring your five senses and be prepared to be blown away
by the rich tradition of this royal land- Rajasthan
is calling.
A must see in this year’s Cary Diwali is an
exhibition on Rajasthan. We celebrate its rich history
filled with stories of great warriors and their chivalry,
romance, glory and tragedy. Rajasthan is often described
as a huge open-air museum with invincible forts, magnificent
palaces, serene lakes, sand dunes and lush green forests
with its wildlife. This year we hope to capture the
traditions, legends, and spirit of Rajasthan in our
exhibition.
Cary Diwali is an open-air festival, and has gained
a large following since its inception in 2001. Last
year alone, this popular Triangle event pulled a record
crowd of over 12,000. With an even better program in
works for this year, plan to be there! This event is
free for the public. |
